The Puch lives!

The seat had to be mounted by making a bracket to fit existing to new, it now starts with the first kick but needs the chain lengthening, so that's the job for tomorrow. Next is re-installing the electrics.

Started taking shape again but still need to mount the seat and test compression etc. The compression was best I've ever had it! The stater was missing the bottom coil so just replaced it from my now old donor E50!

It turned up Friday, mounted it last night but the exhaust port was slopped so decided to just up rate the kit to the 70cc straight away.
The head came off easily and revealed roller bearings which is a added bonus.

So the ZA50 has gone but I managed to find an instant replacement in a new E50!

Magnums new pipe

Picked up a pipe for the magnum off eBay. I will post more pictures once its mounted.

New seat

So the new seat finally arrived from Treats, it took 3 wks in all. Two days to get here and the rest of the time it was sat in customs awaiting Clearance! A £18 custom charge and the beauty was in my hands. Just need to make a bracket to mount the seat to the frame! Will probably do that on the weekend then!

Shocking mini magnum

So today I had a little tinker with the magnum x. For some reason it was sitting very low at the rear. Either the front forks are not original and are too long or the rear shocks have had it. Anyway I had a rumage through our mounting pile of moped parts and dug out two slightly longer and stiffer rear shocks. See the before and after shots. Much better!

just follow the link, it has good compression just didn't realise it was a pedal start and I don't have any of that, gona be easier to just get another E50.

Puch Magnum X joins M.A.D

Picked up a fun little bike today its a Puch Magnum scrambler but the e50 engine had been replaced with a 70cc 4 stroke Honda 3speed.
It's already running but sooooo loud!

New number plate

So I've got my new plate through as I had broken mine. Basically the other night I forgot to do up the wheel nuts on the rear and it fell off splitting the plate in two!

ZA50 has compression

So we mounted the ZA50, bolted straight up like a gooden! Tested the compression by attaching a drill to the flywheel. Compression is good and we have a good spark. Will try n get the motor running tomorrow!
